About the deployment

Zeour Ltd

Zeour Ltd is a London-headquartered enterprise engineering company shipping software and hardware across 13 production solutions. Like every organisation, we run on internal communication — engineering coordination, deployment decisions, customer-engagement updates, and day-to-day operations across office and field staff. And like the regulated operators we serve, we wanted those communications governed: end-to-end encrypted, held on our own infrastructure rather than consumer clouds, joined to our staff directory, and retained under our own policy. Rather than sourcing a platform, we built one — and adopted it as the engineering proving ground for what became NOVARYX, our white-label secure messaging solution.

What we deployed

The Zeour stack at Zeour Ltd

The NOVARYX reference implementation, deployed on Zeour's own infrastructure: end-to-end encrypted 1:1 and group messaging built on open, audited cryptographic standards, encrypted media and voice notes, disappearing and view-once messages, encrypted on-device storage and search, and private push notifications that carry ciphertext only and decrypt on the device. Messaging is directory-gated — staff message within the organisational model, not an open contact graph. The backend relays and stores ciphertext only, with durable store-and-forward delivery, backlog replay for offline devices, and an offline outbox that auto-sends queued messages when connectivity returns. The same codebase, encryption model, and deployment pattern is what we engineer into customer editions.

How it unfolded

Phased engagement — Discovery → Build → Pilot → Roll-out → Operate

NOVARYX followed the same phased discipline we sell: a specification-first build (the platform is governed by a formal requirements specification), a design-system-led implementation where no feature screen ships before its components exist, and a security posture proven by test at every milestone — the cryptographic core is exercised by automated acceptance tests on both mobile platforms, and end-to-end message flow was proven between real devices over the production backend before staff adoption began. Rollout was deliberately incremental: the engineering team first, daily-driver use to surface real-world issues (session recovery, offline replay, notification privacy), then wider staff adoption as the platform hardened. Off-grid field mode — multi-hop mesh relay for zero-connectivity sites — is developed and trialled on the same internal estate before it reaches customer scoping.

What changed

Operational outcomes the deployment enabled

Official business moved off personal consumer messaging apps and onto an organisation-governed channel — the same shift we engineer for customers. Operational coordination, engineering decisions, and customer-engagement traffic now flow through a platform where content is end-to-end encrypted, the backend lives inside our own perimeter, and staff lifecycle follows the company directory rather than personal phone numbers. Just as importantly, NOVARYX became our proving ground: every feature that reaches a customer edition has survived daily production use by the team that built it, and every scoping conversation includes a live demonstration on our own devices — including the two-phones-with-no-network mesh demonstration. The honest claim this deployment earns is the one we lead with: we run our own official communications on NOVARYX, every working day.
